Critiques on painting, craft and art history, a sense of place and formal sculptural issues inform my work. When making, each
work begets the next, until groupings are formed. The process of choice and composition of the final display is highly considered
and crucial to the personal narratives I wish to convey. Working predominantly in portraiture, I use line and colour to breakdown the forms and sculpturally construct my subjects. I paint my emotions and feelings, so most of my art is very personal, but, at the same time, I have a strong, uncompromised position on several important social problems, and do not hesitate to express it on canvas.
