                 Women hold up half the sky

Nannan Jiang is a Chinese visual artist who works with collage, digital processes and screenprint. Nannan is focused on women’s equality issues in China. She explores the discriminatory treatment of women in contemporary Chinese society through the production of screenprinted posters and handbills. These can attract attention and activate social concern encouraging public pressure to change opinions and hopefully government legislation for better women’s rights. Nannan aims to raise awareness and intends her work
to encourage Chinese women to speak out and change their circumstances in China.
