Jeremy Swan’s artistic practice has established itself through life drawing. His artwork tackles concepts dealing with human vision and the distortion that occurs when translating it into a drawing. An analytical approach is used to dissect the subject into a recorded document. The information is negotiated and reduced to drawn elements of line, tone and text. Through the lyrical nature of text, ethereal attributes can be articulated beyond a surface level observation. Drawing from life allows the artist to become a conduit for the drawing, in which the presence, duration and experience of time is embodied within the drawing.
