I am a photographer interested in embodiment, gender and identity. My work explores the ongoing constructed nature of the self and how much ‘choice’ an individual has in this process. The medium of photography is awarded the power to further bolster the social contructed-ness of gender. By undermining photography with the use of photography my work reinvigorates, re-shapes and subverts this contruct and challenges the nature of perception.
The body is a site where the psychological and and physical come into conversation. The space in which the body occupies, is the same space that shapes our perception.
