My work is an exploration of the Central Victorian Highlands and what I see as a need to re-engage and connect with this fragile environment. The ora depicted are a unique combination of the diverse species that co-exist within the old-growth forest near my hometown of Kinglake. With a large portion of this ancient forest burnt out in the 2009 Black Saturday bush res and the native old- growth forest logging activity that is present, this area is in great need of preservation and protection to ensure the survival of not only the ora and fauna in the area, but ultimately also ourselves.
