My practice focuses on the encounter of abstract painting for both artist and viewer. I aim to unpack the conventions of Abstraction through material investigations which question the painterly formalities involved in making, such as surface, construction, edge and installation in order to examine extended possibilities and limits
in my future works. With an emphasis on colour, materiality and deconstruction, my paintings are process-based, arising from a
state of working with a deliberate methodology, but not knowing exactly what comes next. This method of working involves an inherent complicit tension between being and becoming, forming and unforming, making and viewing.
