The frame functions as a site for spatial transformation and selective focus. It directs our attention to how light, shadow and the physical form operate when transformed on a 2-dimensional plane. Framed through photography and video, my work reveals a meditative process of sculptural arrangement and site intervention. Surfaces and materials are activated by the transient quality of daylight, as it reveals and traces the presence of form.
A background in painting has informed a playful and intuitive approach to materials, resulting in abstract and painterly compositions that consider the ephemeral nature of light and shadow as gestural mark making.
