I ruf e the boundaries of expected norms using discarded matter such as cardboard boxes, to see how far I can extend the value
of throwaway material. I use this method to metaphorically explore postcolonial theories in trying to understand feelings of displacement and the need to develop a solid sense of belonging to the place I call home.
My time-based manipulations of substances involve their deconstruction and reconstruction to challenge usual form and function. Using this method I hope to provoke viewers perceptions of xed ideas and an acceptance of personal knowledge as being steadfast, to reveal possibilities of uid thought.
