Chaotic Attractions is a series of trans-disciplinary works that transcribe the complex patterns of natural-phenomena into the
realm of human perception. The collection investigates the harmonic and inharmonic structures of order and chaos, through generative, audio-visual outcomes. It seeks to utilise the beauty that resides in the mathematical world of the scientist, and reframe it through the universal vocabulary of the artist. Through transcriptive processes
the series renders mathematical theory as material for audio-
visual generation, revealing the macro and micro structures of the non-human. Dynamic synthesis, driven by evolutionary functions, generates chaotic signals of greatly varying characteristics, the breadth of which is illustrative of the differing states of order and chaos. Simultaneously, these signals are extrapolated for the visual domain, creating dynamically evolving representations, which have an implicit correlation to the audi cation and underpinning theories.
