RUSH is a collection of audio-visual works provoked by the resurgence of so-called “alt-right” (ie. neo-fascist) ethno-nationalism and its associated aesthetic strategies. RUSH is a kind of “meme- warfare” bringing (mis)appropriated texts, sounds, images, concepts and affects into violent con ict with one another. RUSH plays with
a network of references drawn from romantic and early modernist culture extrapolated, with bitter irony, into the present a century later. Dragging itself backwards through the blood-soaked mud of history this bizarre cabaret act mimes the performative fabrication of contemporary political formations through parody, (mis)translation and displacement (the Of cer dreams as the angel of history).
