My practice explores ephemerality, domesticity, beauty and the grotesque.
What pulls you in and what thrusts you away in pure disgust. Playing with the fine line of beauty and repulsion that is easy to cross but more enjoyable to mingle with.
Challenging the expectations of materiality by analysing and reflecting upon the traditional roles and expectations surrounding women in a domestic setting. Transforming useful domestic objects into completely inconvenient and dysfunctional wearable pieces, destroying the materials original function as a rebellion and reclamation of one’s position in society.
