My recent practice has focussed on collecting and
repurposing readymade mechanical components.
Collectively, the history, form and functionality of these
objects, provides me with a reservoir of sculptural possibilities from which to draw from. Through a process of reconfiguration these objects and there associated meanings are transformed into
new sculptural art works that hopefully contribute to a broader discussion regarding consumerism, waste management, energy production and their historically detrimental impacts upon the environment. In this way I aim to develop sculptural forms that simultaneously acknowledge the complexity of our industrial past whilst speculating upon the positive potential of future innovations.
