I am a Chinese New Zealander who has an earnest connection with the land that raised me. My practices today were deeply influenced by my mother, who is also a painter, educator, and writer. Throughout the duration of my study, I have shifted my focus from painting mediums to more experimental materials. The notion of space plays an essential role in my practice, which often explores the subject of identity by seeking the relationship between the body and objects. In my recent works, I have attempted to investigate my cultural heritage in a contemporary context.
