I utilise paper to explore concepts of the body. Through forming, marking and arranging paper, I am able to construct concepts of paper-based beings and body parts – realisations of hypothetical paper bodies.
My works are guided by their process-based practice as well
as concepts of gender, bodily autonomy and the experience of inhabiting a body. Materials such as make-up, thread and nails aide me in using my work to explore these concepts. I also
use thread and nails to contextualise the works in the environments in which they are encountered by the viewer.
