The archive gestures towards research, memory and story-telling. Through preproduction and postproduction of family mementos, there is a slippage between archival impulse and personal materiality within my practice. My work responds to the function that archival material plays in the way we contextualise our past.
Situated within documentary, photography and the traditions of the archive, my practice explores the poetics of print and nostalgia, to ultimately reimagine my own childhood and reconcile with family history.
